Hagfish are eel like creatures. They have two tooth like rasps on the top of a tongue like projection, as the tongue is pulled back into the hagfish’s mouth the pairs of rasps pinch together. Hagfish are actually fish NOT eels. Hagfish produce a GIANT amount of slime especially when getting attacked. Sometimes the slime chokes the fish that attacked it to death and then the hagfish has a meal. If I found one I would probably swim away or if I caught it I would throw it back in the water. If the slime does not work they will tie themselves into a overhand knot and get away.
