I had big plans

Big plans for my blog.  I had them.  I really I did!  I wanted to share everything that I’ve learned over the years.  All of the weird things that I’d be like “hey did you know _____?!”  and my friends would be like “no way man!  That’s so cool! You are SOOO smart!”

That never really happened.  I’m not really that smart, or that vain.  I was overzealous though perhaps, which isn’t a bad thing except that I didn’t follow through.  I learned something about myself after the blog got started, though.

I’m lazy.

But I’m not actually lazy.  Just lazy enough to not take this side project seriously enough.  Not important enough to me maybe?  I was always so torn between the amount of hours I spent blogging and all the time that I could have been spending building killer iPhone apps.  So instead, I built a killer iPhone App!

Not really.  Only in my dreams.  I’ll get there at some point.  Anyway, enough rambling.  The point is…

I really wanted devinsblog to be a place you could come to learn cool stuff.  The subtitle was “know | share | learn” as if I knew something and was then going to share something wonderful with other people.  FAIL!  Instead of looking at that subtitle of thinking of myself as a failure, I’ve simply changed the subtitle to “more or less my tech diary.”  What a load off!  I feel mildly successful now!

So now it’s “devinsblog: More or less my tech diary”  Which looks an awful lot like tech dairy… which would do a body good… hmm.

Anyway.  That’s my success story – change your goals to fit your success.  Word of caution: don’t take me seriously.
