The 3.0 iPhone OS was released to developers a few months ago. We’re currently on the fourth beta of the iPhone OS,. Recently a Russian website released that the latest version of the beta software was taking higher quality pictures:
As you might imagine, there was a lot of disbelief about the validity of these photos. Community “uproar” occurred and voila: some valid proof that if there ARE any improvements, they are very minor. Check out this site and the third post down the page on this forum. Here’s the first picture from the MacRumors forum poster ‘jandep’:

OS 2.2.1 on the left, OS 3.0 beta 4 on the right. Notice the texture of the ceiling in particular... The improved quality is consistent through all of jandep's photos

Actually, my photos were an attempt to prove that at least some of the improvement came from the UV coating wear issue.
I made that clear in my post on macrumors
