Apple’s last Macworld: Going out with a “big BANG” or moving on?

I’ve seen quite a few remarks this morning on twitter and other feeds that keep restating that they thought Apple was going to go out with a big bang – but they didn’t.  I don’t specifically have an opinion, but I want to at least throw another train of thought out there.

The whole mindset around “going out with a bang” is parallel with “not going down without a fight.”  While many people think of Apple leaving Macworld in this light, I don’t think that Apple agrees.  Instead, I think Apple feels that they are moving on to other things.  Perhaps the Macworld Expo has lost its importance to Apple.  In this case they definitely would not feel that they should “go out with a bang” – why go out with a bang for something that’s not important?

I’m not making any conclusions here, just an interesting observation.
