Blackberry Storm or the iPhone?
Verizon announced earlier this month that they will be introducing RIM’s Blackberry Storm phone to their phone line-up. To me, this phone looks to be the closest thing to the iPhone yet (and some of the features are arguable even cooler than the iPhone!). Below is the first video I saw of the Blackberry Storm in action. The cool stuff that you can’t see in the video can be located in this article, which compares the iPhone-like features to the iPhone itself.
There is one cool feature on the Blackberry Storm that I wish the iPhone had – the push-to-click screen. The Storm apparently has some sort of physical feedback to pushing the screen. Simply placing your finger on the screen only moves the cursor around, actually pressing on the screen registers the click, with a feedback that makes it feel like you’re pushing a real button. This would be similar to the new trackpad on the unibody macbooks.
I still feel that the iPhone is a better device: better interface, better physical design, better connectivity (wifi capable), more possibilities (games, dynamometer), but for somebody that has Verizon the Storm gives all the more reason not to switch to AT&T.
